Each Baby Bird is carefully handsculpted into the bird form and we then add a few “bits”. The beak, the wings, and each eye are all applied separately with what are called “bits” of glass.
Color is added and an assistant glassblower brings each “bit” to the lead Glass Blower to apply to the bird form. In all, each solid Baby Bird is crafted from 5 individual parts, not including the body.
